The Perfect Marriage is split into two parts: The first half of the book is told from the point of view of the husband (he’s called The Husband), and the second half is told from the perspective of his wife (she’s called The Wife).
The Husband loves his wife very much, and he wants everyone to know that he’s happy with his life and marriage. But The Wife is not happy. She feels trapped in her marriage, and she doesn’t know how to get out without hurting her husband or destroying their family.
The writing style itself was one of my favorite things about this book. It was written entirely in dialogue no narration or descriptions and each chapter began with a quote from another source about marriage or relationships that applied to what was happening in that chapter.
Furthermore, I loved how each quote related to the story being told, but also how it made me stop and think about my own relationship with my husband. I also found it interesting that.
