The storyline of The Horse and His Boy
The horse and his boy is a story about a boy named Shasta living with an older man named Bree (who was the good witch). Bree was teaching Shasta how to use the star language to travel from place to place using wishes (the star language is what you see in the sky). He could make wishes come true by using this magic.
One day when Bree told Shasta that he must leave because he had learned everything he needed to know about being a witch, Shasta went out into the world on his own for the first time in his life. While traveling through the land, he met another boy named Aravis, who her family had also abandoned after her father died in battle fighting against King Lune’s army.
They decided to go back home together and find out what happened with their families. Still, they got separated along the way when Aravis’ horse died.
The Horse and His Boy book have some really good characters, and it was nice to see how they changed throughout the story. For example, Bree starts as an ungrateful horse that doesn’t want to help Shasta because he doesn’t think he can trust him, but by the end of the book, he has become much more kind-hearted and loyal.
This change could be attributed to him being around Shasta for so long. Still, I think it also shows that even animals can be changed if given enough time with someone who treats them nicely.
